Welcome to Mrs. Airaudi's Language Arts Booktalk!
Thank you for visiting this site! This is a place where students, teachers, and parents can talk about the books they are reading, and help others find books they might enjoy as well! Please feel free to contribute to the discussions as often as you like, keeping in mind that this is a school-related site (which means you need to be sure to keep comments appropriate and constructive)! Have fun with it!
Here are the student requirements:
Each quarter, you are required to do the following:
- Post two threads about books you have read that haven't already been posted. Be sure to include the book title, author, and a short summary of the book (make sure not to give away any endings), and a rating of 1 to 5 (one means the book is ok, 5 is a definite must-read).
- Reply to two existing threads. You may comment or question, but make sure your posts are meaningful and relevant. For example if you simply post "this book sounds cool," it will not count for your required posts.
- You are the "owner" of the threads you start. Be sure to maintain your thread by checking it regularly. That means you must answer questions and keep the comments on track (don't let people start talking about unrelated topics.
- Lastly, for extra credit (one point per post), students may encourage their parents to post threads and/or comment on existing threads. If parents would like to participate, but internet access is an issue, please have students see me.

Thanks for the feedback- I think this is a good way to talk about books, too! Hopefully you'll find something you never thought about reading and enjoy it as well! It can also be a good way to talk about the different themes/ issues that are brought up in books. Marissa- this is the second year I've been doing this. Anybody have suggestions on how to make it better?

This is the second year that I have done wiki's, and I am planning on doing it in the future. I would like feedback on how to make it better for the years to come!!

well i think we should have it where were only required to have 1 book in and just put other ones in as were done reading them

Well to make it better for next year i think you should have a rule were you have to comment on at least 4 stories that people post. Now you only have to comment on 2 . . . . . . . . I believe?

yea its only two revues that you have to post and two book reports that you have to creat

i think doing wiki is a great idea. because then you now if the people are really readin thir books instead of just getin 1 then sayin u read it. to me i think you should keep doin it in the future cuz its a nice thing 2 do and also figure out what people tghink of their boooks and if thir really readin em

ths is a grea w ay 2 do book reports. now we dnt have to write the reports and those take up so much time and with ths it saves time and paper :)

I agree, Devin. I also can tell by reading the reviews people write if they are really reading the book, or just trying to summarize based on the description on the back cover, or reading the first couple of pages and the last couple...
